![]() When people are talking about emulators and ROMs in most cases they are talking about ways to get access to games that they can't otherwise play due to a lack of the hardware or not wanting to buy the game (or in some cases not being able to buy the game to do region release etc.). ![]() But when people are talking about ROMs and emulators that is very rarely, if every, the case. If you own a switch, rip your own ROMs and use them and them alone in an emulator you are fine and doing nothing wrong. The fact that you have to HAVE a switch in the first place to rip the game, and people are talking about using this as a method to not having to buy a switch proves that point. ![]() Trying to argue that there is a legal way to do it is just trying to find some excuse. But again lets be honest, a overwhelming majority of the people here using / wanting to use emulators aren't buying a physical switch game and ripping a ROM of it. Sure ROMs are perfectly legal if you bought the game and ripped the ROM yourself.
